Profile Summary

Dr Devi Mohan joined Jeffrey Cheah School Medicine and Health Sciences as Senior lecturer in Global Public Health in July 2015. She did her MBBS and MD in Community Medicine from India. She has attended special training in biostatistics and participatory research. She is physician cum epidemiologist with expertise in community based research. During her Masters, her study was on Mild Cognitive Impairment among elderly. She was the State Coordinator for setting up health observatory of 1 million people in Kerala, a project of National Rural Health Mission, India. `She has actively worked in the improvement of nutritional status of tribal population in Attapadi, India. She has been a state level and district level trainer for various health programmes in the state. During her tenure as academician in India, she has mentored more than 15 medical graduate research projects. She has also been the resource person for research methodology workshops for postgraduates and under graduates in various medical, dental and nursing colleges in India.
Before joining Monash, she was working as Assistant Professor in a medical college in India. She has also worked as Assistant Surgeon in the government health services, and also in the emergency department of a neurosurgery centre. Currently she is working on an elderly research project in SEACO; Monash University. She is a registered medical practitioner of Indian Medical Council, member of Indian Medical Association and Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine.
