Associate Professor Wong Chee-Piau
Dr. Wong Chee Piau is a full time staff of the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Monash University Malaysia since its inception. He is a Consultant Paediatrician and Child Neurologist with MBBS from the University of Malaya, Fellowships from the Royal College of Physician (UK) and the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (UK), PhD from Newcastle University and completed his paediatric neurology training in UK. He has special interests in Paediatric Epilepsy and Paediatric Neurodisability. His research projects in these areas include “the efficaccy of Levatiracetam in the treatment of childhood epilepsy”, “long term video EEG follow up of children”, “neurology and neuropsychological outcome of acute non traumatic coma” and “tele-rehabilitation of children with hemiplegia”. He is also very keen in community engagement and medical ethics. He establishes the community based practice programme for the Monash MBBS programme; and is a member of the Monash University Human Research Ethics Committee and Malaysia Qualification Agency and the Malaysia Paediatric Neurology Credentialing Committee.
