Dr Lu Hou Tee
Dr Lu is trained as an interventional cardiologist and has been in full-time clinical practice since year 1999. He is currently a consultant cardiologist at Regency Specialist Hospital and a senior lecturer at Monash University Malaysia. He graduated as a M.D (Medical Doctor) from Malaysia Science University in 1999. He became a member of Royal College of Physician (London) in year 2004 and Fellowship of Royal College of physician (Edinburgh) in year 2013.
Apart from his main interest in interventional cardiology, Dr Lu is fully certified in adult transthoracic echocardiography by the European Society of Echocardiography. He spent 13 years serving Ministry of Health, and were posted to several states (from North to South) including the National Heart Centre in Kuala Lumpur before joining private practice. Dr Lu pursued a three-year Cardiology Fellowship Program (Ministry of Health, Malaysia) at Sultanah Aminah hospital Johor Bahru, National Heart Centre, and a short attachment at the department of advanced cardiovascular therapeutic in Osaka University, Japan for complex PCI and imaging (IVUS and CT) training. He also visited several times to ASAN Medical Centre, Seoul, South Korea for training in the field of interventional cardiology.
He actively participates in cardiovascular conferences and meetings. In 2015, he won the 'Best Case Presenter Award' in Complex Case Competition in the 20th Cardiovascular Summit: TCT AP (Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics Asia Pacific), Seoul, Korea. He was awarded for “Excellence Service Award” for several times (two consecutive years 2004 and 2005 at Melaka General hospital and year 2010 at Sultanah Aminah hospital, respectively).

Dr Lu is national specialist registered in internal medicine and cardiology.
Dr Lu's main research interest is related to acute coronary syndrome and clinical cardiology, at the same time he also involved in many international multicentre randomized clinical trials in the area of cardiology, diabetes mellitus, hypertension and cardiovascular disease registry. He has published several papers in the field of cardiology, authored a number of abstract in interventional cardiology, delivered multiple lectures and served on national and international conference faculty member. His latest involvement is in the drug-eluting-balloon (DEB) (B Braun, Germany) registry. This is an international multicentre registry, looking into the clinical efficacy, safety and long term outcomes of patients underwent balloon angioplasty using DEB.
