Flow Cytometry 

Flow cytometry  is a technique for counting and examining microscopic particles, such as cells and chromosomes, by suspending them in a stream of fluid and passing them by an electronic detection apparatus. It allows simultaneous multiparametric analysis of the physical and/or chemical characteristics of up to thousands of particles per second.

GE Healthcare SE600 Vertical Unit and Ettan DALTsix Large Vertical System 

These two setup can run denaturing and native polyacrylamide, 2-D, electrophoresis, agarose, and nucleic acid gel electrophoresis. The SE600 is capable to run two gels simultaneously-or run four gels using accessory divider plates. Meanwhile, the Ettan DALTsix system can run up to six lab-cast or precast gels (26 × 20 cm) simultaneously.

BX41, CKX41 and IX81 Microscope   

  

The BX41 is a clinical microscope which integrates brightfield, fluorescence, phase contrast, polarization and darkfield modulars. The CKX41 is an inverted microscope. It is routinely used for checking cell viability in petri dishes, culture flasks, and multi-well plates. The IX81 represents the most advanced motorized inverted microscope from Olympus. It is ready for multi-wavelength, advanced fluorescence and deconvolution techniques.

BX41 and CKX41 microscopes use the  AnalySIS LS Report 2.6  software to capture image digitally. IX81 microscope can be controlled electronically by using the control board. Alternatively, it can also be controlled by using CellSens Dimension 1.6 Software (pictures below).

CHEF-DR® III Pulsed Field Electrophoresis System 

Pulsed field electrophoresis is a technique used to resolve chromosome-sized DNAs. By alternating the electric field between spatially distinct pairs of electrodes, megabase sized DNAs are able to reorient and move at different speeds through the pores in an agarose gel. DNAs from 100 bases to over 10 megabase may be effectively resolved.
