Brain Research Institute Monash Sunway (BRIMS) hosted three ministerial delegates from the President’s Cabinet of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in May this year.

Director of BRIMS and Head of Neuroscience Professor Ishwar Parhar chaired the meeting with the DRC delegates — Diplomatic Assistant Mr Vincent Musambya Sanganya,  Economic and Financial Assistant Mr Alain Kaninda Ngalula and Expert Consultant Professor Mwanatambwe Milanga. The visit marked the first engagement between Monash Malaysia and the DRC to discuss future research collaborations and student exchange initiatives.

The meeting was also attended by representatives from Monash Malaysia’s top management including President and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Interim) Professor Andrew Walker, Head of Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences (JCSMHS) Professor Mohamed Shajahan Yasin, Director of External Engagement Mr Gavin Gomez, and Associate Professor Tomoko Soga from BRIMS.
